## Production Approval Workflow (Added 2026-03-11)

### Overview

All 20 production CircleCI configs have been enhanced with a 2-stage approval workflow and comprehensive SNS notifications to ensure controlled and monitored production deployments.

### Features Implemented

**1. Two-Stage Approval Gates**:
- **BUILD Approval**: Manual gate after tests pass, before Docker image build
- **DEPLOY Approval**: Manual gate after image build, before Kubernetes deployment

**2. SNS Notifications** (4 per deployment):
- BUILD approval needed notification
- DEPLOY approval needed notification
- Deployment success notification
- Deployment failure notification (on_fail)

**3. Production Configuration**:
- Context: `devops-mgt-prod` (updated from devops-mgt)
- Runner: `tbi-local-runner/prod-win` (updated from loadtest)
- Branch filter: `master` only (restricted from all branches)
- Version tags: Clean semantic versions (no branch/build suffix)
- SNS Topic: `arn:aws:sns:ca-central-1:489176460030:DevOps-alert`

**4. Environment Validation**:
- DEPLOY_ENV must be set to "prod"
- Validation checks before deployment
- Fail-fast on misconfiguration

### Workflow Steps

```
1. lint-and-test (master branch only)
   ↓
2. notify-await-build-approval (SNS notification sent)
   ↓
3. approve-build (MANUAL APPROVAL REQUIRED)
   ↓
4. build-and-push-images (clean version tag)
   ↓
5. notify-await-deploy-approval (SNS notification sent)
   ↓
6. approve-deploy (MANUAL APPROVAL REQUIRED)
   ↓
7. deploy-to-kubernetes (with success/failure notifications)
```
